Background reports

These are some of the background reports that are behind the Climate Action Canada initiative, including a detailed study of the future of the environmental and sustainability movement in 2014 that pointed to the need to an integrated strategy to address the root problems of environmental, economic and social decline. Flowing from that study were two more reports that led to Climate Action Canada.

Climate Action 2016 (Jan. 2016)

2015 was the year of climate commitments. 2016 needs to be the year of climate action. We have four suggestions, plus an idea for a nation-wide Climate Ready campaign.

Achieving the Future Canadians Want (Oct. 2015)

This paper follows up on the report card on sustainability leadership in Canada. It proposes a way to break through the deadlock and acrimony around climate change and sustainability by focusing on solutions people want. It sounds obvious, but the implications are profound.

The Next Wave (Nov. 2014)

The Next Wave is a 90-page report on current trends and opportunities for a new wave of environmental leadership in Canada. This report is the foundation for a new approach based on integrating environmental solutions with quality of life.
